Structural Engineering in Luton & Bedfordshire

New build and refurbishment, from a domestic extension to a multi-million pound development.

The David French Partnership LTD deals with the full range of projects from new build structures to refurbishment of listed and historic buildings, ranging in size from large multi-million pound projects to small domestic extensions or conversions. Our client base ranges from Nationwide Companies, Housing Associations, to Schools and Colleges, Commercial and Private Clients.

Experienced and versatile

You will benefit from our experience of designs that use all traditional construction materials as well as newer techniques, materials and products such as structural insulated panels (SIPs). We have expertise in the design of structures using steel, concrete, timber and masonry as well as less common materials such as aluminium and glass. This experience allows us to recommend the best materials and design approach for your specific situation.

Traditional skills supported by the latest technology

Sophisticated software enables us to carry out complicated analysis and design of all types of structures. Our CAD technicians are trained to use AutoCAD which is heavily customised to optimise our drawing process. We also use Revit for suitable projects. AutoCAD add-on packages make our structural detailing highly efficient and include MultiSuite software. There is more on how we work in our computer aided design notes.

No job is too big

Whatever your project, you can be confident we have the right people for project. Within the design department are teams who handle the larger projects. You can see the range of work in our project sectors, from schools and commercial buildings through to civil engineering schemes.

...Or too small

In addition, there is a separate small works division which deals with such projects as loft conversions and simple beam calculations for your home extension. See our Small Works Department for what that covers.

Remember you get what you pay for

A lot of people think they will get the same solution to engineering whichever engineer they use and just opt for the cheapest engineering quotation. If you pay a low fee corners have to be cut and it is highly likely that the engineering solution will be over-designed and the project will cost you more in the long run.
